Yesterday I had a terrific day helping out the great people of 1Voice Foundation with their 6th annual fishing tournament. 1Voice Foundation raises money for pediatric cancer research and what a great turnout it was! It was a great honor having my painting, "City of Bolts" as part of their premiere raffle and knowing that it went to a great family. Looking forward to next year! GO BOLTS and 1Voice Foundation!  For more information on 1Voice Foundation, click here.

What's old is NEW Again!

I just completed a rehab on this worn out nesting tables and gave them a fresh look for summer!  I stripped the tops - painted them black and laid silver leaf rectangles on them. After a few transparent washes of acrylic paint - it was time for a poly resin coat - something to help them brave the Florida weather a bit better!

All they are missing is a tasty snack, and good book and perhaps a smart cocktail!  CHEERS!

Prints, prints and more prints!

A recent project that I have been working on (and will for some time!) has me producing framed prints for a residential / corporate building.

The great thing about this project is that I am able to revisit my catalog of artwork for the past few years and reproduce the pieces for large scale (20x30") prints. The interesting aspect of the project is to produce several different versions of the artwork also. Stay tuned for some new artwork and also a remixed or retooled versions of some of my old favorites.

Hand painted Tuxedo for Museum Benefit

Last week, I took a quick break from projects to create a hand painted tuxedo...with tails! Each year, Tampa Museum of Art holds a themed benefit to generate interest in the Museum and it's programs.

With great themes - comes great creative inspiration. This year's theme was a "Circus" theme. I transformed a white tuxedo with tails with all the whimsy of a ringmaster jacket with a bit of bling and flair!  Glitter ribbon for trapeze ropes? YES, please! Last but not least - bling don't mean a thing unless it's got - RHINESTONES!  After I hand painted the entire jacket, it was inevitable that the stones came out!

I had so much fun working on this project! For the past 3 years, I've created a theme jacket with a "little something different"  - from Gold leaf to wired blacklight sleeves.

Check the "Projects" section for previous year's jacket projects!
